1st Draft: DREAMLESS

https://youtu.be/eRTTtmIhlnk ^ An attempt of a "short film", which I had rather realize later to be it was supposed to be a intro to a movie. Nonetheless this tells the story of a boy who dreams to race again. Enjoy.

Final edit Production 8

The last part of what I did for editing, was my title sequences. At first it was difficult and frustrating as I was going back and forth to videos on how to change fonts and editing in order to make words disappear and to show up by doing it gradually. One thing that was a big wall was doing positioning. I couldn't find the move bar to move the text so I had to type in coordinates but other than that this whole editing process was a very fun and I learn a lot from making this movie. Not only did I learn a lot from making this film but it also made me appreciate how much people do to make 2 hour long movies or even more as this was already a big process for just two minutes. One of the tasks that was fun and easy to learn though was making text transparent and having videos show up behind the text.

Editing Production 7

When I first "finished" this movie it wasn't all really fitted together at first. So the next thing I did was export the video onto my computer and then onto my phone which was actually a much harder process than some of the stuff I had to do on the movie. Once I showed my friends the video, I had some positive remarks but then I had some people who were questioning what I was saying at the end of the movie which was "Don't dream for it" which was actually kind of a weird thing to say honestly and it didn't make sense. But once I had some negative remarks I knew I had to make it better. So I went through the process of making the text at the end of the movie standout and also making sure it has some type of symbolic meaning.

Editing Production 6

Now when I was realizing during the weekend when I was editing that, "Oh yeah I don't have the end part of my film." But this is when it struct me that there was no way my parents were going to drive me to the track to film. So we had to switch it up and instead film in the forest at Rothenbach. I did something really corny at this point of the film process which was throwing the shoes up in the are and just touching the camera which honestly didn't really fit into the movie and was just really corny. So I went home and started to think about why I really made this film. The reason why I made this film at first was because I didn't have a junior cross season for cross country. So then it hit me that I should just make it about that at the very end. Because, it would honestly be quite strange if I just slept in the movie and I was somehow somewhere completely different and just not waking up.

Now then, onto the fun stuff, while taking the photos from the camera and putting it into my photos I had remembered just when I did this during middle school. That's when I remembered just how stressful it is to actually edit the project. But turns out, that's just because when I was in middle school. That is because at first it was rather stressful actually looking at all of these buttons seeing what they do, and having to look up how to zoom in on things, or even blur stuff out since some stuff I didn't like. But when I started doing this, I really started to fall in love with the process. One of the best parts of the film editing was putting in the sound effects and some of the music. Turns out the music is what can really impact and bring out the best of your film.

Filming Production 4

At the very end of the film, we realized our battery was dying and my camera was just about to die. The film quality is ok, we didn't have any camera that was high of quality for a movie film but we made good of what we had from an old camera we use to use when we were children. Because the camera was dying, we never really got a chance for us to really take a good shot of the last portion of our film which was going to be at a track place down at Venice. But, I'm glad we didn't take a shot there which I'll explain later in other blog posts. It took us a while for us to import this into the computer because of really issues with how old the camera was so we didn't know what type of cord to really buy in order to connect the cords to the computer.

Filming Production 3

Now over the course of Winter Break, we filmed on the very last day of the week. We filmed at a park called Rothenbach, where we believed it were the best option for us to do. But while looking through the storyboard, we still went through with what we had in mind. Nothing really changed but, when I was doing the storyboard. My initial thought were to make it not totally serious but also just not funny. But over time during the filming process. We decided last second that it was going to be a funny film instead for entertainment. But before this we were unprepared, my initial thought for the costume for my dad was going to be a wizard but we decided last minute on for him to be a cowboy instead. Not really a cowboy really, but I believe just someone with a hat.
